Revolutionizing Space component procurement

The era of New Space demands agile sourcing and cost-effective solutions without compromising on reliability. Our platform bridges traditional, high-reliability practices with the commercial-speed flexibility of the new frontier. By unifying transparent documentation, robust traceability, and rapid turnaround, we empower your mission to confidently navigate a transformed supply chain—faster and smarter than ever.

Why ?

Current space procurement practices struggle to keep pace with rapid development cycles, high costs, and limited visibility into component origins. Traditional supply chains rely on complex documentation, lengthy testing, and high minimum order quantities. Meanwhile, commercial-grade parts offer cost savings and quicker turnarounds but often lack the robust traceability and assured reliability that space missions demand. This gap leads to delayed launches, budget overruns, and missed market opportunities.

Collaborative Procurement for Space Missions and EEE-components

Imagine a cutting-edge Earth observation mission supported by a multinational coalition of space agencies, satellite manufacturers, and test facilities. As the mission’s payload specifications evolve, secublox´s procurement platform instantly adapts, offering cost-effective, high-quality COTS components. Instead of waiting weeks for manual approvals and data exchange, teams leverage a secure, centralized environment.

Here, manufacturers provide authenticated part histories, test labs confirm performance metrics, and mission integrators approve finalized selections in near real-time. Even if a critical component becomes obsolete at the eleventh hour, this networked approach rapidly identifies suitable replacements, mitigating delays and ensuring launch-readiness without compromising on quality or compliance.

Key advancements driving Space procurement transformation

Unite mission planners, procurement officers, and quality engineers under one verifiable source of truth. By establishing tamper-resistant documentation and dynamic access controls, StarSource ensures that critical insights—such as component performance histories, CoC documents, or testing protocols—are available exactly when needed. This transparent approach supports informed decision-making, streamlines approvals, and reduces administrative overhead. The result is a new era of data-driven supply chain orchestration that translates into quicker turnarounds, minimized risk, and enhanced mission success.

Supported by Research by the German Aerospace Center

Building on extensive literature reviews and interviews with industry experts, the solution was refined as part of a collaborative research effort with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The findings highlighted key challenges in leveraging commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components within space missions—especially issues around supply chain transparency, documentation availability, and cost efficiency. Guided by these insights, the team developed a scalable, integrated procurement platform that addresses these challenges directly.

The resulting architecture and processes represent a synthesis of DLR’s stringent mission requirements, emerging industry practices, and proven technologies, ultimately providing a robust framework for streamlining the sourcing and validation of EEE-components for space applications.

The space industry is facing significant challenges in establishing a reliable and fast supply chain, with suppliers currently acting as the primary bottleneck slowing down the global space sector. It’s time to rethink procurement strategies and streamline the entire supply chain.
